The importance of our ISO 9001:2015 and ISO 45001:2018 Certification

What is ISO 9001?

ISO 9001 is the International Standard for Quality Management, first published in 1987 by the International Organisation for Standardisation (ISO), it is one of the most commonly used management tools with over a million certificates issued globally.

The current version of ISO 9001 is ISO 9001:2015 which includes more focus around customer satisfaction.

Our certificate serves as confirmation that we have successfully implemented and operate a quality management system (QMS), providing us with a set of tools and guidelines to ensure that our clients consistently receive a high quality of product and services.

What is a Quality Management System?

A QMS is the documentation of an organisation’s processes and plans for achieving quality objectives. It is tailored to our organisation and to the needs of our clients. An effective QMS enables our business to consistently deliver high-quality services and drives improvement.

The ISO 9001 quality management system (QMS) has several key requirements, including:

  • Quality Policy
  • Quality Objectives and Planning
  • Customer Focus – Customer Satisfaction with Product Quality
  • Leadership Engagement – Organisational Structure and Responsibilities
  • Process Management and Document Control
  • Continuous Improvement`

What is ISO 45001?

ISO 45001 is the international Standard for Occupational Health & Safety Management. Published in March 2018

It helps us meet our goal to improve workplace safety for our employees and visitors. It minimises occupational health and safety risks and promotes a healthy workplace. This is achieved by controlling the various factors that might result in illness or injury, both physically and mentally.

ISO 45001 uses the Annex SL structure meaning it can seamlessly integrate with our ISO 9001:2015 quality management system.

When you consider that HSE recorded 51 fatal injuries in the construction industry in 2023/24 it is easy to see why it is important to us to provide safe and healthy working conditions.

They also recorded in 2023/24 over 1.7 million workers suffered from a work-related illness, for more information go to their website https://www.hse.gov.uk/statistics/index.htm . The Safety Booklet

How our ISO benefits our clients in the installation of ventilation?

Whilst there is no current ISO standard that applies specifically to our work in ventilation, both ISO 9001:2015 and ISO 45001:2018 help us offer a high quality of service and demonstrates our commitment to safety. The construction industry and subsequently the installation of ventilation in new build properties requires a high standard for successful implementation. It is of vital importance that our QMS improves the quality of our services and ensures compliance and customer satisfaction.

Process management encourages all aspects of the business to work together to design, install and complete projects with care and quality. A ventilation system with a fault or installation error can cause untold damage and invasive corrective works. Our QMS signifies our commitment to reducing errors, reviewing our work and aiming for the standard our clients deserve.

Our ISO 9001 certification relies heavily on accurate and current documentation. This includes quality manuals, procedures, work instructions, and records of audits and reviews. Making it a priority to regularly update and review all documentation ensures our clients are getting current and correct information. Keeping up to date also streamline our operations and efficiency.

We continually monitor risks and opportunities to the company and we evaluate ways in which to enhance our services, improve our productivity and develop the business. Customer feedback is an integral part of our review process. Monitoring customer feedback is crucial for maintaining a robust quality management system under ISO 9001:2015. Regularly gathering and analysing feedback to understand customer needs and expectations, allows for improvements and enhancements. We encourage all of our clients to tell us about their experience, just follow this link – Review us on Google!.

It is more important than ever to strive for excellence in our field; with rigorous regulatory requirements and high expectations from clients setting the outline we hope to exceed. Regularly monitoring and measuring performance is key to maintaining our ISO 9001:2015 standard. This involves setting clear performance indicators and using them to assess how well our processes are performing on site and in office.

An environmental management certification (ISO 14001) is available independently to help achieve necessary climate objectives worldwide. Although we do not hold this certification, we do follow its practices throughout our business.

Adopting the ISO 14001 Standard helps businesses to:

  • Reduce Waste
  • Improve Resource Efficiency
  • Cut Waste Management Costs
  • Promote Environmental Best Practice

In conclusion the ISO standard and the certification we hold is fundamental and essential to the success of our business. It illustrates the quality of a ventilation product or service we offer, and generates customer trust, strong business connections and loyalty that we respect.
